Heisei Hyakki Yagyō Emaki

One hundred yōkai born from the everyday objects of Heisei-era Japan (1989–2019) — pagers, flip phones, photo-sticker booths, dial-up modems, portable game screens — painted in a woodblock-print spirit and woven into a single night parade.

At the center walks Suzune, a photographer with a small red bell at her throat, who records the procession plate by plate. Plate 1 is The Reply Beggar, still waiting inside a dead pager for an answer that never came. The yōkai have been keeping everything you lost — the unsent mails, the tapes you never rewound. The hundredth plate gives it all back. What comes back is the era itself.
